I have 20 rafters cut. 16 or very straight. 6 have a crown between 1/8" & 1/4".
They are 2"x10" x 13' 1/2"

1 I could place the crowned ones in the center span farthest from the wall.
2 use at the ends and cut notches for my outriggers.
3 place crowned at one end and work to wards no crown.
4 Trash the six and cut straighter.
5 ??

???

is the crown on the top of the rafter or the bottom?  If on top, you should be ok to use as normal.  The crown on the bottom is generally a potential issue.

Others will have more info I would guess!

The crown is up.
I'm after a roof that doesn't bother me to look at. I could put them on anyway witch way and I would probably be the only one that could see a 1/4" crown that would be looking at it. If no suggestions, I think I will cut my outrigger notches in the worst ones and place them over the gable end walls and draw them down to the plate then secure them.  The notches should allow some extra flex.

I'm pretty picky and I doubt if you would even notice a 1/4 in. crown once the roof is on. I had a few like that and they looked really straight when I eyed down them (when they were all up).
