IMHO, there's no point in arguing about whether there is or is not climate change.  What we would need to do to try to alleviate it is what we probably ought to do anyway if we're going to keep on living what we consider a reasonable life-style as the rest of the world thinks it should too.  Putting a full-color glossy 64 page booklet (recycled paper content????) may not help with the world's goal.

First from Dave Johnson at the Huffpost's description:

QuoteHere is some wording about the document, from a press release from YOUR GOVERNMENT:
"The color glossy 64 page booklet -- previously was only available in hardcopy to the media and policy makers -- includes speeches, graphs, press releases and scientific articles refuting catastrophe climate fears presented by the media, the United Nations, Hollywood and former Vice President turned-foreign-lobbyist Al Gore."
..........
The press release reads like a parallel universe of a weird cult. My wife says it's like Dr. Who, and you travel in the Tardis and arrive in America in 2006 in December, but everything is strange. Some alien force is in control of things.

"The American people are fed up with the media for promoting the idea that former Vice President Al Gore represents the scientific "consensus" that SUV's and the modern American way of life have somehow created a 'climate emergency' that only United Nations bureaucrats and wealthy Hollywood liberals can solve," Senator Inhofe said in October.

Here's a list of press releases from the same office:

And here, a 66 page .pdf file:

QuoteFrom the late 1920's until the 1960's they warned of global warming. From the 1950's until the 1970's
they warned us again of a coming ice age. This makes modern global warming the fourth estate's fourth
attempt to promote opposing climate change fears during the last 100 years.
Recently, advocates of alarmism have grown increasingly desperate to try to convince the public that
global warming is the greatest moral issue of our generation. Last year, the vice president of London's
Royal Society sent a chilling letter to the media encouraging them to stifle the voices of scientists
skeptical of climate alarmism.

Here's an interesting site that might explain the denial & what is really causing the changes in our weather...

There's a lot of information here - most has links or references...  He writes about SOHO http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/ Solar and Heliospheric Observatory - some of his comments on this thread I question - but everything else I've read, seems to be pretty sound.

Interesting.

I remember reading a story (probably in Asimov's Science Fiction) years and years ago about nuclear winter on this planet.  About the only place that thrived was Iceland--because of the geothermal activity.
