beam connectors

I am building the victorian cottage and the pictures shows 2 beams connected, a 6x12 to 6x12, at 90 degree, what do they use to connect these,  Second the loft beams, 6x8 are connected to the walls, what do they use to connect these beams?
hangers, brackets or?? and what is a source where I might get these ??? ???

For the 6x12 to the 6x12 beam over the 6x6 post (Main Floor Plan, Sht. 2) you could use a Simpson OHU612-SDS3. This comes in flat black and can be painted with any spray paint. Alternatively, you could notch the beams over the post and lock them in position with bolts through OHA33 angle brackets.

For the loft beams see Loft Floor Plan and Loft Floor to Wall detail on Sht. 3. These are HUC68 hangers to the band joist. The HUC has the flanges concealed (turned inside) and the sides of the hanger are covered by the finish blocking.

Simpson hardware can be found at any lumber yard or building supply company. They may need to order these specific hangers however.

PS - Thanks for pointing out that 6x12 connector - I've added it to the master set.
