We all know that we should use strong passwords for our online logins. Not all of us are aware of what makes for a strong secure password or log in ID.

FYI, strong log ins and passwords should involve numerals, upper and lower case letters and special characters (*, #, $...) whenever possible. Not all sites allow special characters, for example. Using three of the 4  in 8 characters will usually result in a log in or password that should be quite impervious to attacks my most hackers.

I ran across this strength checker. Give it a try. Enter a password and see what the results are.

A further hint regarding forums. It is a good idea to use a log in ID that is not the same as your screen name or your email address if the site allows that. For example here at CP you can set your profile to display a name other than your user ID. Of course if you change that after you've been here a while some of us might get confused.   ;)

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.
