I was uploading a jpeg file to Photobucket when Microsoft Security Essentials caught the following trojan files.  Exact moment upload was completed . . .

Trojan:JS/Redirector.BT

and

Exploit:Win32/Pdfjsc.CR

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

I just put my pix in there and had no problem.. I probably scared them all back to Troy.   [waiting]

   You must be using a browser other than IE8 . . .

Looks like it may be a problem when using IE8.  It keeps trying to access the IE folder in the registry.

I was previously using virus software from CA Inc.  It wasn't catching some of these problems. . .

It seems that I am catching and removing more of these type of problems when I started using the Miscrosoft Security Essentials . . . And turned on the User Account Control.

I was also redirected last night when I accessed a photo gallery from a craigs list ad. . . Another trojan. . . TrojanDownloader:JS/Renos

You are correct  Firefox 3.5.7

If you want to use IE then you will have to keep on the updates constantly I think.  FF updates often also.

I use AVG free and haven't had a problem in a very long time.

Hmmm, I got nailed last week with a virus that pretty much shut me down.  Somehow it got around my AVG protection.  Oh, and I uploaded a photo to Photobucket as well, so you're not the only one.  Sounds like Security Essentials did a better job.

As I previously mentioned, my anti-virus software from CA Inc. missed most of these problems.  Membership is about $60.00 per year . . .
