Hello all-

I want to build a 24x30 cabin in northern Maine. There is a lot of rock and boulders in the soil and it would be very expensive to get an excavator in to my sloping site let alone excavate the unknown (i'm thinking worse case scenario). My alternative is to use a pad foundation footing with a wood pier to a wood beam. I'd like to make the connection from the concrete pads an adjustable post so I can level the building as needed with the frost heave etc.

I found these 6x6 adjustable posts at Pylex in Canada - http://www.pylex.com/en/page_produit.asp?sku=12103. They are very close to what I think I need but are only rated for 2700lbs and I believe the minimum I need is a rating of 5000lbs.

Does anyone know where I can get something liek this off the shelf or even made? Thanks for your help
