Fire Proof Ceiling

Any ideas for a ceiling, with some sort of fire retardent qualities besides drywall?
Was looking at a possible drop but seems like a hassle to install ceiling fans and light fixtures.  Look forward to hearing your thoughts........

   We did a basement ceiling years ago with 12"X12" tongue and groove panels on a grid of 1"X2" furring strips.   Similar to these . . .
