What about an elevated shipping container/house?

I am thinking this might be a good idea for my back yard, thus giving my hubs an office...Or a backyard house.

Shipping containers above ground make excellent storage units.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Yep...I have a 40 footer. Keep the ATV's and all my tools in it. Buy some real security locks and it's like a bank vault.

My brother poured a 40' reinforced concrete slab and put a container on it.  Works great, but in the eight years he has had it, it has walked almost six inches off the slab, apparently due to traffic vibrations from a moderately busy road about a block away.  He's trying to figure out how to slide the container (and the contents) back into place before securing it.
