I just for the first time saw that I had personal messages through the site.  I never noticed the little "you have 3 messages" thing at the top of the screen.  If there is any way that a pop-up can be made that shows messages, it could help a lot.  I know that I can't be the only person who this has happened to.

I am not able to mess with the code on this board but have occasionally gotten a message that way myself.

I don't check it either but probably should. The notice is at the top right when you log on.

Hmm, thought you might be able to send yourself a message and check the box asking for an email when there were replies.

Doesn't seem to work.  Durn.  Box goes missing.

I am sure there is a check box in the message preference section that will allow you to send messages on to your email. I have used it and it seemed to work ok.

You can check the Notify of Replies button (look at the bottom of the thread just to the right of the Reply button) on any thread you are interested in and it will notify you by email when a response is posted. Clear these notifications with the Notification button at the top control panel for your settings (next to your Profile).

On the bottom, a little further to the right is the Send Topic button. That one allows you to send a link to the current topic to anyone else, including yourself. It has the thread subject title in the email.

Thus you could send a reminder to yourself if you wanted to look something up later or archive the topic for a later project. You can edit the email message as a reminder if you wish.

At least that's how it's supposed to work. It's actually is a pretty good piece of forum software (and the price is right!)  ;)
