hey everyone!! tesa here

phew, what a strange year its been, just got our internet connected here at the property.

i guess i should stop calling it "the property" since we live here now

wow, so much to talk about in the year i've been gone

our PV system is working  GREAT!

we intend to buy two more batteries, on order as we speak

we've had a TON of rain here in grimes county texas, which means we haven't gotten any building done, but hope to get
started soon, the plan is to get most of the foundation done this summer

i've missed you all SO much, its good to be back

now, i need to get started reading all the posts i've missed in my absence

tesa, I wondered what part of the earth you dropped off.   ;D ;D

Good to hear from you again. Looking forward to hearing about your experiences as time permits.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

I also wondered about you - glad to have you back.  Looking forward to those updates. :)

thanks for the warm welcome

its been a long strange trip,

overall, we've had a smooth transition to the off grid lifestyle

a bit of a rough start with the rainwater harvesting system, as it turned out the weekend we moved the RV we got 4 inches in
two days

however, of course, we DIDN'T have the tanks ready

well, i'm sure you can guess what happened next, it was 4 weeks before we saw another drop, so we were doing some major
water rationing

after that, and the rains came, and our tanks runeth over (really), all was well

we had a very hard freeze, low's in the teens, highs right at 30 for four days, our tanks had slush in them, and the pump, frozen

however the carrots were delicious

more a bit later
