Great Day for a picnic

Today we had our annual "Chilli on the Mountain" outing.  The weather was great and the leaves although about 1/2 turned were still a sight.  The first picture was on the Scenic Highway which is near Cranberry Glades Bog.  The second picture is looking east with the last mountain range in the distance being Virginia.  Dogtrot is on one of those before that last range.

Pretty.  The sumac is really red right now here, but I don't think other than that we're going to have much of a fall show because it has been so dry.

Nice John. We don't get much in the way of colors like that in the Jemez.    Just Aspens turning yellow for the most part.

Sweet... I miss northern Arkansas this time of year!  The colors were always something to look forward to.  (That, and squirrel season!  )

Very Nice country John The past 5 years I was out in N.W. Montana and the fall colors there were nice to. Western Larch, mountain maple, alders, several different birch species, aspen, alder, cottonwood, etc. Back in Indiana now and the fall colors here are similar to yours, only not as wide spreed. This year not as good because of late summer/fall drought.

NMshooter: Had almost forgot how much fun "limb rat" season is. Can't wait to try the 17 mach II on them  Though it's hard to beat spring/summer gopher shooting in the West
