The Good News: President Obama recently announced at a press conference that he would not seek to reinstate the so-called "assault weapons" ban.

The Bad News: President Obama recently announced during his tour south of the border that he would support an international treaty called the "INTER-AMERICAN CONVENTION AGAINST THE ILLICIT MANUFACTURING OF AND TRAFFICKING IN FIREARMS, AMMUNITION, EXPLOSIVES, AND OTHER RELATED MATERIALS"

Treaties are the highest law of the land. They supercede even the Constitution, once signed. This particular one contains some reassuring language, but the fact remains that it could be considered a legal excuse to pass and enforce pretty much any laws deemed necessary by the administration to accomplish its purpose, no matter how draconian or unconstitutional. Watch for a push by this administration to push these treaties through the Senate, trying for an end run around our Bill of Rights, and another giant step toward a socialist global government.
