Anyone bought any clear cedar lately? I'm wondering what the going rate is.

Well, at Lowes here in Northwestern Illinois, a 1x6x8 western red is $9.97, 1x8x10 is $19.97, 1x8x8 is $16.77 and clear cedar is a special order.  Most good local lumberyards carry it but it is exxxxxpensive.

Welcome Ndrmyr, I live near Dixon. You in the same area? I don't buy much lumber, but the quality of what I do get really seems to have gone down the drain.

Sparks,

Yep, I live between Rockford and Winnebago.  I must confess that when I pay retail for dimensional lumber, a lot of sorting is required.
