When i went to the lumber yard to get some carriage bolts for the beam on my barn they talked me into using a different kind fastener Called a Thruloc. Not cheep at $2.49 a piece X32 =$79.68 + tax! No pure drilling at all! I used my impact drill to drive all the way trough 3- 2x12 & 2.5'' of post with no problem. I though this might be a good fastener for the people that doing post & beam foundation.

If it wasn't for bad luck . I would 't have any luck at all.

I saw those on the FastenMaster web page and wondered if they worth the cost.  No drilling huh?  Sounds like an obvious choice if you're paying someone else to build for you.  Having used them now, would you buy them again for the same project?

Yes I would! They were fast and easy to install especially when you are working off a ladder. They were self drilling & driven not a lot of pushing on the drill. the locking cap on the end griped the wood really good no pliers needed.
