My time was Viet Nam - as I 'spose several here had the same time.
Then wasn't appreciated so much. Anything from a hostile reception to benign aversion.
Today was different - for the first time.
Work had an appreciation of vets.
Son was a Marine - he told me thanks for my service. I thanked him.
Co-workers said thanks.
Went to Chili's for free food. A number of folks said thanks.
Current personnel and vets exchanged thanks. Bought each other shots of Tequila.
(damn funny how the fingers have trouble finding the keys after 4 shots of Patron.)
So to all that have served - thanks for helping keep our country safe and free.
Leo
Thank you Leo. Thank you to all of our veterans.
I went down from my office in downtown and watched the veterans day parade today. I wasn't the only one who cried just a bit. I wish we did half the job of protecting our own freedoms as our soldiers have done on our behalf.
Thanks Leo!
