Title: Hitler youth coming to an area near you...
Post by: glenn kangiser on October 06, 2010, 01:05:02 PM
Brought to our attention by www.rense.com     "Programming Kids To Enforce The Police State"

Another state sponsored program to make that army of civilians to patrol the US.

This should be good and a great revenue generator for the police state.  Can you imagine how this will go as our own kids are converted to Brown Shirts to become our judge and jury.   [waiting]

More research says it may be a parody

I was going to take this posting down but comments on the last site toward the end are of the opinion it is not a hoax.

No matter what - it takes sick people to make something like this - either hoax or real.  Lets see what comes of it.

I think it is a hoax/spoof.  It opens with "earn tons of badges".  It is made to mimic the boy scouts.  There is no organization, hence no badges.

http://itp.nyu.edu/shows/spring2010/category/projects/

It looks like it was created for an NYU class.

The page drips with NYC village sarcasm of the right wing.

"My eight-year old caught the gardner smoking something suspicious. It wasn't marijuana, but it turns out he was illegal!"
- Phyllis Specter, 32, Idaho

Like someone was to stupid to know that the gardener they hired wasn't legal until their child took a picture of him smoking.

Also.
"My son and I are competing for the Major Freedom badge. Three more Suspicious Activity reports and he takes the lead. I've never been so proud!"

SARs are banking forms and not legally released to the public.

The page is dripping with sarcasm.
"Q: So who's making money off this?
A: In short, no one. MiniTru, LLC. is a non-profit organization created to find modern solutions to the timeless threats to democracy and freedom. We are funded by a variety of organizations, including but not limited to CCTV UK, Minutemen Civil Defense Corps, XE, and the Centre for Defense and International Security Studies."

CCTV UK makes money (lots of it) from installing cameras in the UK.  They wouldn't give away their jobs.  It is Minuteman, not Minutemen. XE is the new name for Blackwater.  Blackwater makes money by providing paramilitary services for profit.  No profit motive there either.  I don't know the last one.  Two of them though are frequent punching bags of the left.

"we will post the reports online for review" - no reports online
"our super secret servers"

I'm too slow for squirl......    but I'm not wasting my typing...

I agree. Hoax and/or spoof

co-incidences, or clues...

George Orwell, author of 1984.
Winston Smith, protagonist of 1984.
The Parsons were Winston's neighbors.
O'Brien was the Inner Party member who captured and tortured Winston.
MiniTru = Ministry of Truth

Nothing but the snapscouts web site comes up on a google for Minitru LLC

They said minitru LLC was founded in 2008, but the wensite was registered april 2010  ??? May not mean anything.

If the file is downloaded and renamed as a zip, then unzipped there stuff in there including some of the images used on the website as screen shots. I have no idea if you can unzip a real droid file and come up with similar stuff.

Within one of the files there is a url      http://itp.nyu.edu/~dp1244/mobme/final/uploads/   it is now dead but looks like a NYU exam or project upload directory.  Student project?  ???

Has anyone with a droid tried to install the app?

The last organization listed in the FAQ is real   Centre for Defence and International Security Studie   http://www.cdiss.org/

I never took time to read it much before, but rense.com is a horrible anti-semetic site.

"exposing the Jewish tyranny which has enveloped the United States."

The jews were taking over Europe.  It republishes a lot of old Nazi propaganda.
The jews controlled the press, the economy.

There is even a part which states that Aushwitz was really just a work camp with great conditions.  Horrible.

I edited it to take out the link, I don't want to republish garbage like that.

Now you know one reason why I discount much that appears there.  :(

Though we don't get into it much here, Rense claims to not be antisemitic - for what it is worth.

A couple explanations here.  He is not against Israeli's but dislikes those who have taken control of their leadership and their control of much of US policy.  There are many Jewish groups who agree with him.

While I have Jewish-Lithuanian ancestors, I do not find a lot of his stuff offensive and mostly use his site for reference on the current happenings no matter what the viewpoint.

He post lots of headlines from both sides and lets us weed out the crap.  I'm not into his alien stuff but find lots of current controversial topics that I am interested in there.
