Title: State by state housing starts and appreciation
Post by: John Raabe on December 08, 2005, 07:58:17 PM
Running back to 1980 you can see how many permits or housing starts where made each year and how the value of the average house has fared over the same period.

Thanks to Jimmy Cason.

Note: Housing size has also been going up so the percent chage in house value is not the same as the percent change for an individual house (any given house can be expected to appreciate less).

Massachusetts may have had the big boost in housing prices in the late seventies.  Nashville sure did, and then may have had to coast for a few years before another big surge.
