If I get the time this weekend, I'm going to play with a new solar bank and set it up for 36 volts. I have access to an almost unlimited supply of UPS's that are fine except for dead batteries.
This would give me more AC when I needed it.
I know, everyone says not to use them but the only reason I've ever seen was that they draw power when idle. So what! I'll just put a master cutoff and isolate them from the bank when not in use.
Sounds like it won't cost much to see how it works :)
Sounds interesting. Watching...
I guess I'll find out. I bought 10 of them today for $2.00 each. They range from 1200 to 5000 watts and they all work.
It was a county surplus sale they have once a month. I also got a thousand feet of 14 ga extension cord wire for $1.00
Then the big purchase. I've always worried about handling either Jane or Zeus if they were hurt and couldn't walk. There is no real communication there so I'd have to take them out myself. I made a deer carrier but it isn't perfect.
I got this in near mint condition for $25.00

Then I looked it up to get an instruction manual and saw the price. [shocked]
$4,797.60

Well...it works fine. I disabled the alarm and have been running a TV for an hour on a fairly small battery. I don't know about heat dissipation yet but I'll likely add another fan to be sure.
I had a moment. For some reason I thought this was about a bank, like BofA going solar. These moments have come more often lately....
It's OK, Stinky.... it will pass.... [waiting]
