I'm getting scooter ad material in the mail. d* Ya' know, those battery powered motorized chairs. Sheesh! Wouldn't you think that if someone really needed one they would be able to figure out where to get one on their own? Of course, they all push the fact that the government will help buy one for you. What I do need is another good pair of hiking boots though. 8)
Maybe they'll put off road tires and 4wd on it for you MD. Probably for no charge!
Most of the people I see riding those things around here would not need to ride them if they would just get off of them and walk once in a while.
You got that right Glenn. The ad that I like the best has a man exiting a "hoagie" store with his purchase of a foot long. That one is a knee slapper, but emblematic of the folks I see on those things. Lose a few pounds and get off the Hoveround is what I say. ;)
The worst ones are the fat women in stores. Between the chair and the wide load, you can't get past. :-\
There's a lot of patients that get mad when the doc won't prescribe an electric wheelchair/scooter. The doc knows that as soon as they get one, their health will deteriorate because they won't walk anymore... but try telling that to the patient ::)
I want a scooter so I can visit the Grand Canyon . . . or the Statue of Liberty . . . . . ::)

Glenn has his hovercraft - it's called a Bush Hog c*
There is a heck of a lot of walking to get to and from it though, besides, I prospect.

You have to watch the landing [rofl2]
It is plenty of exercise just staying on it around here. It will go where no 4x4 pickup will go and last night running the property line when we got to a point that was steeper than it would climb, Sassy was ready to jump off. [scared]
I told her she couldn't or it may roll and crush her. We had to measure to find the last property marker for fencing. heh
It was tipped so the wheels on one side weren't touching the ground at times... on steep terrain, going over big rocks... I'm not the risk-taker I used to be... [scared] [noidea'

Well, if it is a motorized electric vehicle. I believe you can get a 7500 clean energy tax break. Yup, I say make the system work for you ;)
only if i can get knobby tires and a road grading attachment

I saw a funny photo of one with a Coors beer cooler on the back. It had a rear view mirror and handicap license plate. So far, no patients have requested that combo... :P
Doc
Let me know if someone really needs an electric chair. We got one for my dad and he died in March. I've tried to sell it on Craigslist but because medicare will usually pay for them there is no demand for used units.
I'd be glad to give it away but it would have to be picked up on Whidbey Island, WA.

That's a nice offer John!
