Title: Hardwood floors
Post by: Tom on August 14, 2010, 10:08:38 PM
I bought some used harwood flooring. I've seen how they nail it, but I'm wondering if instead of nailing it down, if I could glue it down instead. Is this possible?

Thanks for any input.

What are you wanting to glue it to Tom?
expansion could be a problem as could not using a vapor barrier

It was just a thought. I was trying to save the expense of buying or renting the tools to tack it down, but I guess I'll have to put my old Dutchman ways aside and spend the money.
Thanks for the advice

Tom,

take a look at this website.  Loads of information on installing hardwood floors.

Thanks! Lots of information there. I'm so glad I didn't decide to glue.

I think that rather than to rent the tools and rush, I'm going to purchase a nail gun.

Thanks again

You can often find used nail guns on places like craigslist and even sell them for what you paid or even more, when you are finished!
