We found some wild strawberries a half mile from the cabin. Only a few early ones though. Still, it's a start. Now we need to hit the time just right; after more have ripened and before the critters get them.

That's cool! Nothing like fresh strawberries... Glenn picked a bunch a couple days ago & we put it on cake - he added ice cream of course...

Nice! Our place is covered in wild blackberries. Unfortunately they come with bonus poison ivy and chiggers, but the girls did pick enough that we canned five jars of jam the other day. Another fun discovery this spring was morel mushrooms just down by the barn. (Also a loaded mulberry tree and some persimmons that won't be ripe until October.)
