Title: If You Ever Need a Hot or Cold Pack for an Injury
Post by: MountainDon on April 17, 2010, 01:05:55 PM
One needs some rice, whole wheat berries, barley, uncracked feed corn... anyone will do.

An sock, with  no holes, or a square of cotton material.

Use the sock or make a bag from the material.

Pour your choice of grain in the sock/bar. Do not overfill.

Sew sock or bag shut. There should be enough space in the sock/back to allow it to conform to a body part.

Microwave the bag. Our three pound bag of rice heats with a 90 second blast.

Be careful, the bag could become overheated and burn skin.

To use a cold pack one skips the microwave and puts the rice sock in the freezer.    d*

I'm living with a hot pack on my cheek.

I thought I'd spread the knowledge. Cheaper than buying a tore bought.
