Title: Any use caulking during winter?
Post by: Bill Houghton on January 03, 2010, 03:39:31 PM
Hello, its been a long while since I posted.  I have been luking though.  Anyway, we are going to be framing in our 8' x 26' trailer cabin soon.  Using a treated bottom plate bolted to metal trailer bed.  We are going to put down sill seal (closed cell material commonly used between foundation and wall).  Do you think there would be any benefit to putting a couple beads of caulk down at the same time?  I like to seal things up as much as possible, but with it being winter here in the U.P. of Michigan, the caulk would probably freeze pretty quick.  What do you think?

Not much use in using it. It won't stick to the sill seal anyway, and if it's freezing out, it's unlikely it will "grab" any thing anyway.
