Title: stout angle bracing
Post by: scw on September 16, 2005, 12:37:42 PM
I am looking for some stout 90 degree 4x4 angle irons.  My birdsmouth execution in my 4x6 rafters was pretty poor and I need to reinforce them by lagging some supports to the top plate.  I can't find any heavy duty ones locally.  Anyone have any idea where to look online?
Thanks

For stick framing builders often use the A35 anchor as a universal "beefer upper". If you need something exposed and more serious see the OHA from Simpson.

A computer or two ago I was searching for something and ran across some truly stout and wonderful looking right- and 450- brackets.  Mostly intended for timber-frame, but seems like they were pretty versatile.

Of course I can't find them now.  :'(

Somebody in upper east Tennessee, IIRC.
