Title: Heading to the coast
Post by: peternap on November 12, 2009, 01:19:16 PM
It's our anniversary and we traditionally go to Williamsburg for dinner. Since Williamsburg is near the coast and we're both NOAA Storm Spotters, we are going to leave a few hours early, go to the coast and get some pictures of the storm.

It's kinda nice because we can stop anywhere and park regardless of warnings or closed signs. ;D
I can also do it because of Old Va News but it's more fun to show a NOAA ID.

The "land use fee" is too rich for my blood.  Besides I don't think I would fit in with that West Coast crowd.  I don't have purple hair, rings in my nose or tattoo's everywhere.  Thanks anyway.

Dang, John.  How do you expect me to make any friends. [noidea'

I would make and exception for you if you called ahead... [crz]

Purple hair... you are thinking of my son.... but wait - that was his girlfriend... his was green and spiked.  Hardware?  She has lots but she's nice.  ::)

The wearers are generally nice people because in a fight they know the opposition may grab any one of those rings, bones, bars etc. and rip them out.  I know that is what I would do... [scared]

I know most others around have tattoos but I'm still a virgin..... nary a tattoo has defiled this perfect body... [waiting]

Then that makes TWO perfect bodies and nary virgins then. ;)

[rofl2]

I prefer no extra marks for a positive ID.  I am a generic troglodyte. [waiting]

Looking kinda rough there. Bass Pro in Hampton was closed because the power was out. Here's their parking lot.

Doesn't look like the same place when I was there this summer Peter.  The news cast from that area said it was pretty bad closer to the coast.  Hope you can find a motel that is not off grid.  But then again they all might be.

This is Queens Creek. Normally it's a little tidal creek about 30 feet across.

It's only about an hour away John. No motel needed. I took a few pictures, turned around and went to Willianmsburg for dinner and went home. It is like that all the way to Richmond.

Deer season (Regular season) opens tomorrow and the weather's supposed to be like this until Saturday >:(
