Title: Flat Stock Aluminum - Good for roof?
Post by: grover2044 on October 22, 2009, 10:29:03 AM
Hey all I came across a large qty of flat stock aluminum... Any thoughts on how this may hold up as a roofing material?
Thanks...

Aluminum has been used on RV roofs. Ours dates from 1983. No problems.

What thickness? dimensions?

You could do horizontal strips, starting drom the bottom and working up the slope.

The aluminum may show waves, depending on thickness and conditions. I used flat sheet steel roofing material on a playground structure roof. 10 ft x 41" wide sheets. On a hot day it has more waves than on a cold day. I guess that's from the expansion with bright, hot summer sun.
