Ahh nothing like elk in the park on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Nice bull....cows look good as well.
We were in Jasper, Canada ten or twelve years ago noted that some of the cow elk right in town and on the outskirts had yellow collars on them. When I inquired at the PetroCanada service station what that meant. They replied it was a warning that this was an aggressive elk. They also implied that those that did not know that were usually foreign however some Canadians would get caught as well. They would get to close. The elk would attack and the elk would have to be put down. Guess the elk nor the people knew the rules. As we left town sure enough there was a proud father lining his kids up for a picture with a yellow collared elk.
