I like this for world events, but they are not ear ticklers.  I especially like to read the comments from all parts of the world.

Scroll down to the "Contributed Commentaries" box in the middle of the screen.  It's a precious metals oriented site, but you get a lot of different authors (with different viewpoints) contributing on general economic issues.
