Title: The first 100
Post by: peternap on July 26, 2009, 03:57:14 PM
I got energetic last night (That's Old Guffer talk for couldn't sleep) and decided to cast 1000 230 grain, .452 bullets for my 1911.
I succeeded and this is the first 100 batch.

Those look nice Peter. We could use some just like them.

Thanks Don!
I'll be casting for the 45/70 tonight and then the 308/30-06 the night after.
I'm going to try paper patching a few 45/70's to get the speed up some. I ordered a custom sizing die from a fellow in California because the Marlin Micro Groove rifling, requires over size cast bullets. .460 is perfect. This will allow me to keep the overall bullet diameter at 460 even with the paper on.
