Title: Universal 20' wide 2-story
Post by: waltonrp on August 18, 2005, 09:18:26 PM
Hello all,

I am close to buying this plan. I might want to make some changes, leave out a bathroom, put entry door on 34' side.

I'll build on a basement. Anyone built using this plan and have any advice for me?

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,  I believe that is the one Vojacek's are building.

They have posted a lot of great information and pictures on it.

You may do a search or just browse through the pages of this forum to see their information.

I would like to add that John's plans are really easy to work with and within some limitations you can make a lot of modifications. I got his little House plan kit, the Victoria Cottage plans and the 1 1/2 Story 20 x 30 House plans from him.  ;D Just take a look at this pic which shows what I built using his 1 1/2 story 20 x 30 plans.  8)

Jochen:

That dog leg extension off the steep pitch is a great way to do a bump-out.

Classic design and a great modification of the simple 20' wide!

Thanks all for the replies. Ordered the plans today and they shipped, so I'll start studying them soon.

Now worried that I cannot do this myself. I'll defiately get the footers and basement foundation done professionally. But toying with the idea of tackling the framing myself.
