Title: Passive solar and floor mass
Post by: EcoHeliGuy on July 09, 2009, 10:16:45 PM
So I have a question, does anyone have any info on the effects of floor materials over a cement slab as compared to a clean slab.

Ie with hardwood, or tile, ect on top of the slab, compared to only a stained slab.

I want to know how efficient a slap would be if I wanted to cover it.

( passive solar home, with a cement slab insulated from below, floor in direct sunlight in winter)

Thanks

Similar materials such as the ceramic tile cemented in dark colors should store the heat well - any insulator of any type will cut effeceincy - ie: rugs - wood etc
