Title: Perimeter skirting materials?
Post by: rwanders on July 06, 2009, 08:19:01 PM
???  Looking for suggestions for enclosing 116' of perimeter on my cedar sided cabin (redwood stained). The wife liked Genstone, a polyurethane panels that closely resembles stone but not the $2000+ price. I kind of like corrugated galvaluminum siding but she doesn't.

Any suggestions?

Natural stone would be a nice look.

What about redwood pickets?

Natural stone would be very nice, always seems to look good with wood, and around here it's not that expensive to get slate from the local slate quarry. Maybe river rock could be stacked and mortared into place if flat stone isn't available in your area. As an alternative, would there be a way to use some hardiplank or hardipanels with the 6" o.c. grooves, if appropriate stain or paint could be found?

I'm with you, corrugated steel to match your roof would fit right in.
