This is the second one of these I've gotten in a week. A different tracking number each time. I haven't ordered anything and if I had, I wouldn't use this email address.
Anyone know anything about it. I'm afraid to open the attachment.
Hello!
We were not able to deliver postal package you sent on the 14th of March in time because the recipient's address is not correct.
Please print out the invoice copy attached and collect the package at our office.
Your United Parcel Service of America
Never had one of those myself; I wouldn't touch it. Sure makes one curious though.
Can you see the tracking number; what comes up on the UPS tracker if you go to UPS yourself and try the number?
I have not seen any scams concerning this however I really don't like the e-mail at all. Re-reading that several times it looks like you sent something, not that you are receiving something.
Next thing; if this is a cut and paste - "We were not able to deliver postal package....." should it not say, "We were not able to deliver the postal package." Large companies don't make many grammar nor word mistakes. This sounds sort of foreign, where we love to stick the work the in everywhere we go - well they do not.
14 of March is very suspicious, here it is June first and they are just getting around to telling you they have a dead item that you have sent. Man I hope it was not eggs or frozen fish. Another point - Wow!! and clear back on 14th of March. To me that looks a little strange in itself because here in the States we mostly use month first then date. Other places date then month. Next I don't like the title Your United Parcel Service of America. I always just see United Parcel Service or simply UPS. I really don't know if the correct name is United Parcel Service of America.
I would take the e-mail down the local UPS office and show it to them if it is close or give them a call on their toll free number however I am like you I would not open it up.
Ounce of prevention is often worth more than a pound of cure.
rlr ;)

Apparently it is. Scroll to the bottom (http://www.ups.com/):

I would go to UPS site and check the tracking number
Or even call UPS and ask a bout he tracking number or if it is a scam
but it sounds quite suspicious to me
having just spent the better part of 4 hours de-virusing you can't be too careful
I've recieved a few of these this week. DHL, UPS, Fed-ex. My spam filter picks them up as viruses.
I found it online. If you open it it releases a virus. No one seems to have a fix for the virus yet,
Snopes is on it:
