My Wife's parents talked us into moving down here.  Her mom claimed that "there's lots of places to get jobs."  I learned in economics a year ago that we were better off where we used to live just by examining the unemployment rate.  One thing I figure as to why the unemployment rate is so high down here is because there are a lot of people living on handouts.  I'll call that Obamanomics.

Fresno County: Or as Glenn wisely nicknamed it: The armpit of the nation.
pop 909,153
stress 20.77, oct 07 10.16
unemployment 17% (oct2007 was 8.2)
foreclosure 3.48% (oct2007 was 1.63%)
bankruptcy 1.11%  (oct2007 was 0.52%)
Crack addicts  10%

lol, I guess if I had to put a descriptive on mine,
old german cattle ranchers who don't put up with any BS - 70%.
..
I still live in houston, but hope to move out of the city in a few years.  I think there is less crime in the entire county than my single subdivision here in the city that might span all of 50 acres and have a thousand or so houses.

closest city to the place in the country, note the crime pattern.  these old germans just dont put up with it.

- this is a few miles from shiner texas, where those same german immigrants make that bock beer.

Dang...I don't know what's worse.  Crack addict or old german cattle ranchers who don't mess around.

This just reminded me.  I got my car back.  Police found it in a parking lot about 7 miles away.  Car is fine, my belongings are all gone. They also took my stereo and speakers.  That's not what makes me mad, it's the damage they did to the interior to get the stereo and speakers.  I would have opened it up for them in order to avoid the damage.  I got it put back together today with a few screws leftover.   ???  And the crack addict feeling is just about gone.
