Title: New here
Post by: Ibanez27_2005 on March 10, 2009, 08:18:50 PM
Hello everyone ive been searching this site few months and ive decided im going to build my own small cabin.. Im 25 and have talked it over with my dad he is going to give me a acre of land back on his land near train tracks and im wondering what all i need to do to start building (like not tool's but documents and such) He has all the tools including backhoe to clear off the land and he is very handyman and knows what hes doing with wiring and building.. And what we dont know im sure you guys do  ;D

Also wondering around how much it will cost to box in the house weather proof? Probaly going with standard A frame like most does on here around 16x24 to 20x24. Nothing to big and expensive.. Would like to have it built by time im 30 to 35.. Any help would be great.   Thanks

By give you an acre does that mean he will deed it to you? Here in NM that is a relatively simple thing when done within the family. You should check with your county as to what's required. Here a survey is necessary as well as marking the access easement on the plat.

Deed it over so when he passes its mine, And we will be doing a easement also, Between him and my uncle they own 8 acres there so i dont think there should be much problem..
