Title: Any insurance guru's know anything about PPO's
Post by: peternap on February 18, 2009, 05:54:34 PM
I can get an Aetna PPO a hundred and some dollars a month cheaper.

Any ideas? I've never put in an insurance claim so I don't know much about it.

It really depends Peter.  Are your doctors part of the network?  Are there specialists that would be harder to see with that provider?

We have had HMO's, PPO's and Company self insured...just differences in co-pays/deductibles and such.  Do the math, trying to guesstimate how much you'll use it.

Also be wary of top-end limits.

I don't have a Doctor. I can count the number of times I've seen one in the last 40 years on one hand. When I went to the eye Doctor, he couldn't believe I had never been to one before. ;D

Limits are the same as I have now except the I have 6000.00 per person deductable and the PPO is 5000.00.

Top end is 5 million on both.

They both are pretty much the same except the price. This is the price I started with and it has gone up every year.

Hard to answer without looking at the contract and understand your state laws.
I am rather versed in medical insurance too.  d*
