The other day I got the Flu shot, for the first time in 5 years, and I've been doing a little searching and I'm not sure I should have.
For one I felt terrible last night after I got it for a few hours, I feel fine now, but since I got it some of my mussels have been very tight, particrly my legs. Same thing that happened the last time I got it, also the reason I didn't get it for 5 years. I went in with hope that was a one time thing but it wasn't.
I've talked to a few people and I'm wondering are the Flu shots even effective at all? It doesn't bother my since the shot was free but are there any reason why I shouldn't get the shot in the future and such?

Should be title Immunizations...
i'm gonna tell ya, i used to work for doctors, for like 20 years, and they always bugged me to get the flu shot, i never
did, and never got sick
then one year, i was tired of their crap, so i took the darn thing, and i was never so sick
now, the dr. i worked for said "no way that shot made you sick, you were gonna get it anyway, then"
and i can't explain it, i can just tell you i've not had the flu in like 6 years, never had the flu till i took
that rotten shot
i'll never take it again
just my 2 cents

A question like is bound to generate controversy.
I believe in them. I've never had more than some slight temporary muscle soreness. Very brief. Then nothing. No flu.
I don't need one. I got the flu without any help. :(
Shots in general are likely not safe. Sassy is a nurse and research she has done makes her recommend not to take them, however at work she may be mandated to give or recommend them. Doctors she knows who are in the know say no. Others think nothing of it. I'd rather get my diseases the hard way.
Several of our puppies died from puppy shots. Granddaughter nearly died from immunizations. Aside from a few that make sense - tetanus for one - I avoid them. That's me - you may feel different and have no reactions that are noticeable.
Have you ever tried going without shot, MD? Just to see if your immune system might be doing an exceptional job on it's own?
No. All I have is the before flu shots vs after flu shots to compare. And it's difficult to compare as other factors may have changed as well. It might be worth a shot (pardon the pun ) next year. Too late this season.
