I just read an article in the local newspaper about the crows(the bird, not the people). I knew I didn't like them, mostly because of their constant screaming, but after reading this article, now I know of more reasons to dislike them. The first thing is they are one of the primary carriers of West Nile Virus. Next, the article says it is estimated that Each crow kills 120 duck eggs and hatchlings per year. They also do the same to turkey eggs and poults. The crow also destroys song bird eggs and hatchlings. Anyway, September 6 through February 23 is Crow season here in Arkansas. No limit. Here at my place there is a large murder of crows that I am going to eliminate. The article says they are good to eat, but I think not.
So, you are intending to murder a murder of crows. [rofl2]
You bet. I intend to go on a murderous rampage. I will murder the murder.
Murder the murder! Dispense the muster! Put an end to the storytelling!
You go girl. [cool]
1 down, many more to go.
Perhaps some coyotes will come to feed on the dead crows.
Then you can disband the band, unpack the pack, or rout the rout.
There is almost no restriction on hunting them in my state. (PA)
They are a pain in the neck, but they are seriously smart birds... my uncle had one that was tame when I was a kid, and I always thought he was kind of neat. However, we used to shoot the wild ones out of the pecan trees with a pellet gun when I was a kid, though, because they were heck on the pecan crop.
Sing a song of sixpence,
a pocket full of rye.
Four and twenty blackbirds,
baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened,
the birds began to sing.
Wasn't that a dainty dish
to set before the king?
The king was in his counting house,
counting out his money.
The queen was in the parlour,
eating bread and honey.
The maid was in the garden,
hanging out the clothes,
When down came a blackbird
and pecked off her nose!
There was such a commotion
that little Jenny wren
Flew down into the garden
and put it back again
How about a nice pie, Sis? hmm
I will have to pass on the pie. Just does not appeal to my tastebuds. [yuk]
