Last memorial weekend my wife found an interesting flower growing on our property. An orchid named Calypso Bulbosa Var. Americana. (AKA fairy slipper)
She had me take a picture, and shes been researching it. It seems it is rare and has been reported to grow it Washington but has not been confirmed. A web site that sudies this flower has never seen one in washington and they want to come out to see them this spring.
Anyone ever seen one?

You had me worried for a minute there Frank, but --- nice flower. :)
Thats the first thing that popped into my head as well Glenn. Frank keep us posted .
Nice flower. I hope finding fairy slippers on your property isn't like finding fairy shrimp on your property.
Good luck!
Oh My! I never thought of that!!
Don't let the EPA know!!!!!!!
I didn't think about what that could develop into..
What flowers?? ;)
;D Frank... I was thinking it was something that your kids got you for Christmas... My daughter received a little jar of talc with a handwritten note from her cousin claiming it was "fairy dust", so why not fairy slippers?
I suppose it would be OK if he's not from California, Homey. [crz]
