Members of Congress and the Supreme Court will be getting a pay raise in 2009. It's an automatic thing, set up years ago. Wouldn't it be nice if they could exhibit to the rest of us that they really do "get it", that the economy is in a shambles, and turn it down for the year?
They should all take a pay cut for all the good they've been doing. Idiots!
There is lots of free money around.... they just print it...no problem...

If we were only talking about the price of ink and paper it wouldn't be so bad.
I kinda got a raise from congress. My military disability goes up Jan 1. But I would much prefer to not get the added $$$ and have them take a year or two off

Yeah -- their devaluation of everyone else's money kind of sucks. Hyper-inflation - here we come, guest of the FED money machine and the greedy politicians (poly=many tics=blood sucking parasites).
They don't even have to print it - just an "electronic transfer" stroke of the key & voila $$$$
BTW, I'm one of those Federal employees who will get a raise too :D :-* after all, as Glenn says, I gotta get my taxes back... since my retirement will be gone, gotta get it while the gettins good - isn't that what our our politicians are doing? Can't let the bankers & other public "servants" get ahead of me... d*
"Congress Gets a Raise. Did You?"
I got no raise. I was told I'm lucky to have a job Right now. ???
I am getting a raise of my blood pressure when I read about the criminals we call congressmen.....
I get a "raze" every year.
I don't even want to get started. Full retirement for just one term. No cost health insurance for life and family. Not bad for 4-6 year job.
Heck I haven't got one more penny in retirement since 99. So I just think nothing has gone up as well d*. Probably won't get anything in the near future either as mine is set by law and it takes the state goverment to come up with the money for a raise and enact it. With the way things are going I might not even have a goverment in a couple of years let alone a raise.
