Thanks John. I never realized that you were invisible.
Amazing,W
Thats why you never see me in any of the pictures. ;D
I have to say you are pretty handy with that rolling pin John. I knew a guy once who said his wife had a rolling pin that she filled with water to give it weight. He knew he was in trouble when he went home and found it in the freezer. d*
John, Sassy says you need to add milk, eggs and sugar. Sorry to be picky - thanks. :)
And nutmeg and cloves. ;D Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving all.
Happy T-day. May you all get stuffed.
Happy Thanksgiving.
From the UK, where we're stuck with just Christmas and Easter.
Yeah vardis the pilgrams sort of bypassed you on the way to Plymouth. Well Merry Christmas early.
Welcome to the forum, vardis. w*
All days are the same to me anyway, so just have another good one.
A good day is when you wake up and you are able to look down at the flowers instead of up at them.
Yes, vardis. But you have Boxing Day, so that evens things out a bit. ;D
Canadians get both, BTW.
You guys should talk to Nethog about the Pilgrims.
He grew up on Pilgrim Ave in Immingham. He has more information about the pilgrims before they left from England and landed in Plymouth.
Let's hear it, Stink. :)
Our Thanksgiving was replete with giving thanks for all we have, however we had an unusual one what with the rush to beat the mountains snow.
Our Thanksgiving dinner consisted of a store bought rotisserie chicken from Kroeger's (chilled in a cooler full of ice on the way up - sliced and re-heated on Thursday), Stove Top stuffing :o, C&W frozen green beans, rolls from the Kroeger's bakery plus one of their pumpkin pies and Reddi Whip topping (real cream, not an oil product).
It was all quite good actually. Not the normal home baked turkey, mashed real potatoes, etc. But we were very thankful for our bounties. :)
At least you didn't have to spend all of your time cooking. :)
We often barbecue in the winter over the coals in the wood stove after the fire has died down a bit and most of the smoke is gone. Usually limited to steak and such in a barbecue basket with a long handle.
Gotta get Hog over hear and have him share his info.
..... so [waiting]

QuoteThe Pilgrim fathers first left Immingham 400 years ago. The Port of Immingham/Grimsby is now the largeet container port in the UK and we celebrate the sailing of the Pilgrim Fathers from here in July 1608. Situated on the banks of the River Humber, Immingham is the third largest town in North East Lincolnshire. The Immingham community welcomes you to our new site
Bet you thought it was Plymouth didn't you? :)
From http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Pilgrims:
Quote
In a second departure attempt in the spring of 1608, arrangements were made with a Dutch merchant to pick up church members along the Humber estuary at Immingham near Grimsby, Lincolnshire. The men had boarded the ship, at which time the sailors spotted an armed contingent approaching. The ship quickly departed before the women and children could board; the stranded members were rounded up but then released without charges.
Thanks Hog. I guess we learn something new everyday. Plymouth is easier to say though. heh
