Title: STS 126 Launch
Post by: sparks on November 14, 2008, 08:24:15 PM
I just watched the Endevour launch on the NASA channel. Impressive, as usual.

37 million horsepower.......eat your heart out Ferrari

But, I couldn't help thinking, after all these years and the trillions spent on the space program, could we have eased human suffering a bit with a few of those dollars??

Just a thought

I missed it Sparks,  I saw it advertised on the news but got interested in another educational program.  But I am like you as far as money to better use.  But that is the American way.  Got to be first regardless of the cost.  Maybe they are trying to find another place to live once we destroy what we have. ???

There are a huge number of spinoffs from the NASA space program; from golf balls with greater accuracy and distance to a pacemaker that can be programmed from outside the body, and everywhere between.
