I just found out today there was a printing error with 20% of them this year. It seems the "eagle" side of the 2008's were mistakenly printed with the 2007 mold. Now those coins are going for more than $300 per coin on ebay. Look up "US Silver Eagle Reverse" on ebay and see what I'm talking about.

Relevant to the topic, I also got a note from APMEX today, it seems they have some 2008 silver eagles in stock for 4.99 over spot right now. Seems the shortage in retail silver is letting up some lately.
