Out with the old, in with the new
http://news.oldva.org/?p=179
PRESIDENT OBAMA.....Kind of rolls off the tongue, doesn't it? It's also the last time you'll see those two words together here. I didn't elect him!

It certainly isn't a surprise and it also doesn't make much difference. We had few choices. The title of this should have been ....Out with the old trash, in with the new. McCain was just Bush with a fat face! To be honest, the only hope I had was for a McCain win and for his health problems to do him in quickly. I did have high hopes for Governor Palin, AKA The Babe. She could have made a difference.

Even though Virginia carried Obama, it was not OLD VIRGINIA. The cities went blue. Varyland up north, went Obama as we knew they would, but they aren't really a part of Virginia anyway. There were the usual cowpiles like Henrico and Richmond. There were some disappointments like Greensville and Brunswick counties. I assume they are expecting Obama to give them money. There were also pleasant surprises like Virginia Beach and Norfolk. I was ready to lump them in with Varyland. The RED in the state is overwhelming though, and I'm still damned proud to be a Virginian. That's Old Virginia!

Now what happens. We give our country that's been crippled by Bush, to Obama. How long before the country starts calling Bush's UNEMPLOYMENT RATES, Obama's UNEMPLOYMENT RATE? When does Obama start giving the po black folks, money? How long before Obama gives everyone back the money they lost in their 401K's? Well.....people will be asking these and other questions before he takes office and be looking for a stout rope shortly after.

What will Old Virginia do? We will dust off our bibles, clean our guns, hunt, fish, keep our families close and our friends healthy....and we will grow stronger, while Obama directs the new improved America, in it's continued downward spiral.

You beat me to it, Peter.

I did want to mention the newly installed -resident.  Like anyone had a good choice.

The issue of his being born in Kenya was thrown out of court.  Court said the asker didn't have the right to ask -- as he was only a citizen - citizens have no right to ask per the court.  Who does.  Therefore we are back to another court ordered installation -- which is neither here nor there - no good choice was offered.

I still say my dog would love to chew the ears off of that head. :)

A democrat pres, senate and house.

Yet you watch... any problems going forward will still be pinned on Bush.  Guaranteed.

Peternap, thanks for your brilliant insight. Funny, biologically our country (not me) has voted the first
biracial president in office. It seems it really hates his white heritage aka Rev. Wright and Louis Farrakan.
His past is a mystery to the world and no other candidate has gotten away with this. Candidates in the
past have been destroyed for their adultress relationships and this guy gets a free pass from his radical
associations. This is a disgrace and you know many of his votes were fraudulent and bought and sold with
all the money he had. He gave thousands to Acron during his campaign. Of course, you never heard negative
things like that from the media.

It is what it is. He made a lot of promises during the campaign and bit off quite a hunk to chew. Delivering given everything that is going on will be quite a different matter, that would be true no matter who won. I am so tired of hearing about it all I can't even begin to say. Seems like it has been going on forever. By the time it was over I was pretty soured on McCain and the Babe. I still think two choices isn't necessarily a choice.
