Title: New Halloween Tradition
Post by: alcowboy on October 30, 2008, 01:24:27 PM
How many of you have heard the new tradition for Halloween?

It is called "spread the treats."

You set or change a quota amount at your discretion and go through everyone's trick or treat goodies. Those who trick or treated have stuff confiscated from their bag  and give the goodies to those who sat at home and did not go trick or treating.
[cool] concept huh~!

I been doing that since my kids where old enough to go out. Now they're all grown and I have to buy my own goodies. I hope there's some left for Halloween.  ::)

Socialism is redistribution of wealth. When you're a kid back from Trick or Treating with a bag of loot, the candy is pretty much looked at as wealth through their eyes, IMO. Therefore confiscating (taxing) a certain amount and giving it to those who didn't have the gumption to go and get their own = Socialism.

If it's the grown ups who are getting the benefits of the childs labor, it's unfair labor practice.    ;) ;D  Maybe child abuse to some of deep far left.

Just putting a political slant on it.   ;D

Happy Halloween!!

Oh MD, you know it's not PC to call it "Socialism", the correct non threatening term is "Liberalism"

If it was taking from everyone's trick or treat goodies and gave to the kids who ate all of their candy before they got home, it would be called Bushism - the Republican.

If the parents have to band together and buy more candy for all of the kids who already ate theirs and want a lot more even though they don't deserve it, it's called a bailout.

If the kids get a lot more and take it and throw a party to celebrate the successful plan it's called AIG.  The ones who made the plan successful and in fact invested in the kids candy theft venture because they hope to get a part of the kids candy,  are called Congress critters (syn: criminals)

I would much prefer to give each trick or treater $5000 to buy their own candy.

It's a good thing we have an alternative to socialism.
