Title: went to the gunshow
Post by: peternap on October 19, 2008, 04:33:30 PM
I decided to upgrade the Mossburg I built a while back. For the benifit of the pipe thrower, I added a gren laser and mount for my tach light.

I'm not sure how more efficient it is, but sure looks deadly. ;D

very nice peter.  is that a new hog gun?

I picked up a marlin 336 in .30.30 just a little while back, its a 1961 pre safety version.  I sighted it in this weekend.  I'v wanted one for years and couldn't turn down the deal when it came up.  gonna be my deer rifle this year.

Thanks muldoon.
If you look back a while, I posted about building this gun. I made it out of spare parts in my junk box one day when I was bored. ???

I planned to use it as a beater and do, I guess. I planned on it being my bear/people gun and put my Marlin Guide gun back in the cabinet.

The more I use it, the more I like it and it goes almost everywhere with me. The laser and tactical light round it out as a people gun.

Congratulations on the 336. I have one and love it but then again....I love all the Marlin lever actions.

Unfortunately, we don't have hogs....unless you count some really ugly women I see at Walmart [slap]. If we did, I'd use my guide gun. I love the 45/70 and have worked up some handloads that are right on the heels of the 458 Mag.
