Post by: charleymartin on September 30, 2008, 10:37:01 AM
Hey everybody! I have been a follower of Country Plans for about 8 years and have finally begun construction on my own house! Here is a link to the blog: http://ournewoldbungalow.blogspot.com/
I will post a few photos here when I can figure out how to do it.

w* Charley! Looks like you've got a good start & some great friends helping you!  What age group is the youth group?  I used to head up a youth group at our church in Washington.  Also taught Sunday school for 4-5 y/o's & played the piano in children's church for 3 yrs, taught 7th & 8th grade boys for a yr & then high school students...  each age group was challenging in its own way  c*

Thanks! I teach the Middle School. In a way, I think they are more challenging than High Schoolers because their attention span is Extremely short! Thanks also to Glenn for the assistance in posting photos. I am uploading all my photos to photobucket right now so I can post some on here.

Looks like you got it, Charlie.  You can add a (carriage- like anybody knows what that is) return between your links in the composition to put spaces between the photos for easier viewing also.  You can edit your own postings as many times as you wish.

Charley, I second that.  I swore one time that I would never teach middle schoolers (particularly boys) again after a summer of teaching ESL in Korea, but turned around a few years later and taught high school math.  It was a small Christian school, so I had a lot of kids of all different ages and abilities in the class, including middle school boys.  Asked myself all year long what I'd gotten myself into....  High schoolers and little kids are a lot easier, I think.

Looks like you're off to a great start!

My heart lies with arts and crafts style homes, and I am totally stoked to see someone building a new, modest version of one!  I have the book House Designs of the 1920's, and have thought many times of updating some of those plans and building new houses based on them.  I will be watching with much interest.  BTW, looks like you are doing a great job so far.
