On the new topic page, I don't see how to attach a file and when I try to insert an image, I can't get that to work either.
I know you can attach photos, but I'm not so sure about "files".
Here's how I attach pics.
First off, you have to store the pic on one of those online sites because I don't think this forum has a gallery.
I use photobucket.com, but there are many others available too.
After you get the file on photobucket, then open up two browser windows. Put this forum in one and photobucket in the other.
When you get to where you want to insert your pic, hit the 2nd button on the 2nd row (it looks like a landscape pic)
(img)(/img) this is what you will see, except that the brackets will be square brackets (not round). The URL to your pic goes in between the two img's; ie (img) right here (/img).
Copy that link directly from the photobucket window to the forum window.
Once you're done, hit the preview button and you should see your pic before you post it.
Now, get busy and post some pics
You can use Gadwin Printscreen to copy anything on your screen - make a jpeg of it then put it into Photobucket also. to show it here. You can draw in Paint and save as jpeg same as a picture or image.
You can not upload a file of any type to the forum, directly.
Photos can be posted in a message as described above; there's a tutorial here...

Non image types of files would have to be on some other web site with a link here to them for download.
Glenn or John:
How about making this photo uploading stuff a sticky.
Look under Forum News.
It has been there, sticky, for a while, along with some other tutorials I've done.
Yup -- it's there and thanks to Don for all the hard work of creating it - and them.
