Our nations capitol. Nuff said.
No ruling on the firearms DC case, but they did make statements on two other items. Both of which make my blood boil. Hopefully the DC case makes more sense when it comes down.
Supreme Court Rejects Death Penalty for Child Rape
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/26/washington/26scotuscnd.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin
We cant be cruel or unusual for people who rape 8 year old. Frigging 8 year olds. Note to self, get backhoe, dig no shallow graves, and dont call 911.
The second item, Reduce the fines on Exxon from 2.5 bill to 500 million. The 2.5 was already reduced from 5 billion in 2006. Apparently the disaster that happened 20 years ago still hasnt been paid for. And now they get the cost reduced again.

There may be hope yet. :)
There are a lot of areas that weren't addressed or left unclear but, at least I'll never have to listen to the old "It only applies to the National Guard" again.
BUT,
the scary thing is that it was decided on a 4 - 5 vote with Bryer stating that there was no right to own arms.
If you just consider this issue and the advanced ages of some of the Liberal justices, it behooves everyone who cares about the 2nd amendment to vote for McCain. Like him or not.
Scalia is the hero in my book. He came right and and stated that we DO have the right to keep a loaded handgun in our home. No if's and's or but's! He stated the handgun is preferred for home defense as we can hold it in one hand and the telephone in the other.
Long live Antonin, Thomas, Alitto, Roberts and most of the time Kennedy!!
