Title: Strange electric bill
Post by: maggiethecat on June 23, 2008, 06:49:22 PM
My electric bill:

$
2.70
is
your
daily
average
cost
for
energy.
DWP

164.69

Is this NORMAL???? Are they cheating me?? That can't be right. I was looking at this site:
http://www.wholesalesolar.com/products.folder/systems-folder/OffGridPackages.html (http://www.wholesalesolar.com/products.folder/systems-folder/OffGridPackages.html)

And their largest off-grid kit for a large home is 300KWH.

So my small apartment is consuming as much electricity as 4 or 5 large homes??

Any thoughts?

Was your last bill based on an estimated use?  Ours does that where you get a low bill one month based on what they think you used, then you get hit hard with what you actually used on a later bill when they come out and take the reading.  Just a thought is all.

From what you wrote it looks like a 2 month bill 4/17 to 6/17? I'd suggest averaging has been going on for a while and they just read your meter. Go read it and see it the numbers match maybe.

Call in and complain anyway.

Make them explain.
They ripped us off for years until Sassy complained --- then the bill went from $300 per month down to $120 per month.

If you are in an apartment, maybe your neighbors are hooked up to your power supply.
